Elective for Language Improvement

Session 2 

Welcome!

Purpose of this site:

This is a space for you to learn more about your job, collaborate with your classmates, and form, draft, and finalize the script for your movie.

Each of you will help write the script. This way, everyone can participate and everyone can feel like the movie is "yours".  Important: Shi Li is the Producer, and will lead the discussions. He will assign roles, enforce discussion, and facilitate discussion by asking questions. It is essential that everyone participate. Everyone must participate in this assignment. I will know when you participate and what you write. The wiki keeps track of what you write and when you write it.

Steps: 

1. log in--Check your email for a login invitation
2. brainstorming
   1. make a suggestion for the kind of movie (in "Comment" box at the bottom of page)
   2. read comments about the kind of movie
   3. as a group, decide  the kind of movie--discuss using "comment" box
   4. after you decide the kind of movie, begin writing the script
3. draft script
   1. Create teams to work on a scene.
   2. Teams will write drafts of the scene
   3. write drafts by using the "edit" tab of the script page
   4. teams edit the drafts of the other teams
   5. make the script cohesive--it should flow well
4. finalize the script
   1. edit layout
   2. edit grammar
   3. edit punctuation
   4. edit spelling 
5. Script is due--finished--4/3/2009 by 9:00 a.m.
